Also the answer can't be get fatter because especially in teens the hands tend to not want to grow.

  • I'm not really expert enough to answer this, but my suspicion (surprise, surprise) is that a good strength training program will help a lot as you'll be using your grip a lot. I think hand size is a bit permanent though. I know some pretty tough customers with active lifestyles, some with small hands and some with bigger.

    @JustDoIt: Good question. Parts of the palm do have muscle tissue. Trying to increase the fatty deposits runs the same problem as spot reduction / increase anywhere else, namely that it can't be targeted. Scar tissue is probably right out...

I suggests grip training (crushing, gripping, pinching ...), forearm training, climbing and hard physical labor. Some scientific researches have found that competitive climbers hands have thicker and denser bones, muscles and tendons. That is due to the body adaptation to externals stimuli.
