I've been doing Capoeira for the last month or so and recently I started experiencing some pain on the outside of my knee.

I can't recall any traumatic blow to my knee or any popping noises while practicing, so it appears as though it may have been a gradual process. The pain isn't too bad during my day to day activities, but I definitely feel like there is a slight stiffness (may be a confidence issue).

Any ideas what this may be? Any advice on how to treat this? I've been icing my knee at the end of the day and stretching my hamstrings whenever possible. Any specific stretches that I should to to help relieve the tension in my joint? Foods to eat? I'm willing to follow a stretching/diet regimen, I'd just like to put this behind myself.

Medical advice is off topic here, according to the faq. Please go and see a doctor. – Informaficker Feb 11 at 21:58

agreed. doctor, then maybe physical therapist. I'm voting to close, not because you don't have a valid problem, but because its outside the scope of this site. It sounds like you've got a minor injury to your knee. – DavidR Feb 11 at 22:39
Taking it easy goes without saying, but if it feels like swelling (since you're already icing), you might try adding ibuprofen for a few days. Certainly if it persists more than a few days or is really impacting your mobility you should see a doc. – Greg Feb 12 at 1:55
