I have been training to build muscle for 2 years. I had a lot of mistakes along the way. I gained notable muscle and learnt a lot of new important things about body building over the last two years.

Although I feel pretty good, advancing and keep building muscle there are some things that I feel I do by guessing more than by knowing.

For example, just few days ago I heard that if you wish to gain muscle (I'm talking about muscle and bulking up and not strength) you should eat every 3 hours atleast 20 grams of protein.

I knew I should eat every 3 hours but I didn't know I should get atleast 20 grams of protein. So one thing I do to stand in this requirement (which I'm not sure if it is correct) is drinking more Whey Protien over the day.

I am not sure If the concept of changing the exercises from time to time is important to avoid plateu, and if so should I change the whole workout process and change all my routines or just few of them. I need a book to guide me for this concept for example.

I decided to stop guessing or learn the hard way (just by time) and I want to buy a book to help me understand the body concept concentrating on the body building concept. Do you have any recommendation? I don't feel like I need a book to guide me how to preform the exercies correctly. I need the book to guide me what is right and what is wrong, and basic concepts like avoiding plateu, the importantance of exercises diversity/changes.

Thank you, Guy

There are some book recommendations on eatmoveimprove.com/forum. I've only read some of them, but as fair as I know the selection presented there is considered as the state-of-the-art of strength training literature. – zero-divisor Mar 18 at 18:15
