Whenever I wake up every muscle in my body feels like it has been hyperextended. I dont seem to move at all in my sleep, and when i do go to move when i wake up, for example go to extend my arm, i feel as if im going to pull every muscle in my arm, forearm, bicep, tircep. Even little movements like closing my hand can cause my muscles to chringe. Gradually moving my muscles seams to slightly ease the pain enough to get up and take some Vicodin, though this does help I can still feel soareness throughout my back, legs and chest. This has been going on for four days straight now, I have been drinking protein shakes and staying hydrated to no avail. I am a fit 19 year old with type one diabetes, this is the first time anything like this has happened to me.

Any suggestions at all would be appreciated.

This sounds like a medical issue. Seek medical attention. Go to a doctor instead of this site. – Dave Liepmann Feb 27 '12 at 20:30
I too feel this is a medical issue and, sadly, have voted to close. The presence of youth and type one diabetes suggests a medical condition rather strongly to me. – Sarge Feb 28 '12 at 0:20
@Preston You've described the symptons, but your question lacks many details about what could be causing the problem. What have you been doing lately? How are you staying fit? Answering your question will be difficult since any answers would just be stabbing in the dark. Given that though, medical advice and diagnoses are off-topic for this site as stated in the faq. Sometimes the best advice in these situations is to really go see a doctor. – Matt Chan Feb 28 '12 at 16:32

Did you do an especially difficult workout the day before the soreness started? If you strain muscles, they can be very sore for days.

However, since you say it is every muscle in your body and this has never happened before, I would suggest contacting your doctor to be sure.

I've had something similar happen to me after especially tough workout. I felt this particularly in my tendons, right where the muscle starts to meet the bone. However, this only happened in the muscle groups that I worked out. It lasted for a few days and I was VERY, PAINFULLY sore. My theory, of which I have no proof, is that my tendons got over extended and inflamed due to poor form when I worked out.

However, this is all speculative and based on personal experience. As per other comments, see a doctor if your worried about it.
