I had the gastric bypass surgery about 2 1/2 months ago. The doctor told me to eat 3 times a day. I am looking for good foods in small amounts and ideas for supplemental protein as well.

The required amount is about 60 something grams a day. I tend to eat 3 small (very small) meals (if you would even call it that). I am trying to eat stuff that I can tolerate. Some stuff just grosses me out. The nutritionist told me that whatever I eat should only have no more then 3 grams of fat and no more than 3 grams of sugar. I really haven't followed those rules, but I don't go crazy with it. They want me to drink protein drinks and such, but I cannot stand the taste of the stuff. I have tried a few powders but they are pretty gross to. I think that the limit of cals. per day shouldn't exceed like 300. But I am pretty sure I usually do. I am doing pretty good on losing the weight, but I definitly know that I might get only 1/3 to 1/2 of the amount I am supposed to everyday. I am hoping to find recipies that are high in protein but low in sugar and fat. And ideas for getting the supplemental stuff in too.

300 kcal, 9g of fat per day??? Get second opinion ASAP!!!! – StupidOne Aug 19 '12 at 19:12
I was stating off the top of my head not with the paperwork they gave me. So I am sure its significantly less then a normal person my weight (Cals) as for fat its per whatever I eat. It started with 1 oz of protein like fish, etc. the second month you could add a teeny bit of veggies (about 1 1/2 total oz between protein and veggies) and now I am supposed to be up to 2 oz at least. – Jullia Aug 19 '12 at 19:43
And after the third you are supposed to start introducing very small amounts of complex carbs. I personally don't follow it exactly. I have played with different things, somethings I can tolerate and some things I just can't. So I def do get more then 9 grms of fat. But I do try for the good fats vs. the not so good. Most simple sugars I cannot tolerate which is pretty normal for post op patients. And also for the cals. I am sure I also intake more then that. I haven't really been counting those so much as the protein. – Jullia Aug 19 '12 at 19:44
If you have concerns about your diet, then your doctor or nutritionist is going to be your best resource, especially considering your surgical history. Also, unless you can relate it to your personal fitness regimen, your question is off topic for this site. – JohnP Aug 20 '12 at 3:25
