I'm doing hobby ice-skating for about 2 years (not to often, though), and very curious what are benefits and drawbacks of this sport activity ?

The obvious ones:

  1. Benefits: more strong legs, this is cardio-exercies.
  2. Drawbacks: risk of trauma.

Thanks for your answers !

Benefits: coordination, fitness? Drawbacks: Accidentally falling on the blades? I'm not sure what you are looking for from this question. Do you mean benefits to your muscularity specifically? – Mike S Oct 29 '12 at 5:00

Benefits/Drawbacks in terms of what?I agree with Mike, you really have to specify what kind of answer you're expecting. I mean if it's a hobby there's one benefit over all drawbacks: It makes fun, period. – Danny Oct 29 '12 at 8:42
