comment Is it okay to use a treadmill to lose weight?
Skip the chips and gatorade and start walking/running. The best mechanism to lose a lot of weight is a proper diet and daily activity. Diet is not covered on this site. For exercise, consider this q/a..

comment weight loss/diet plan help
Given your conditions probably the best and most effective plan is to sit down with a registered dietician and learn what the best diet is for you. Re: exercise, several questions address getting back in shape. This one has links for strength training and cardio progressions.

comment Going to the Gym with C5-C6 Disc Bulge
You really need guidance from your healthcare practitioner. You can't just rely on how it feels while you are exercising to know whether or not you are doing more damage than good. What you do today may not show up until later. Learn appropriate exercises for your condition from a qualified physical therapist.

comment Best way to achieve muscle activation in the lower abs?
Any exercises when you have a back problem should be ok'd by your physical therapist or doctor. The ab roller may cause problems unless you already have good control. Emphasis on the transverse abdominis, by pulling your bellybutton towards your spine, when doing any exercise helps. The exercises in this q/a should help you get good postural muscle control, but best to clear them with your healthcare practitioner first.

comment Weightlifting for people with scoliosis
There are varying degrees of scoliosis, so what works for one person with scoliosis is not necessarily good for someone else with scoliosis. That is why you need to listen to your doctors who have seen you. I agree with the above comments that a physical therapist could help you design an appropriate exercise program for you.

comment Stiff calf after 20 minutes of cycling
"Dynamic stretching" can be done before exercise, but "static stretching" should be done after the tissue is warmed up. See #5. "When to stretch" in this answer. Here is some info on dynamic stretching.

comment Prevent back issues on the go, i.e. without office chair?
The following q/a may be helpful: Exercises to improve sitting posture. Using an exercise ball as a chair. As far as specific hardware solutions that would be off topic here, but there are cushions that can be used for back support or to sit upon. (Disclosure - the picture is from our site's amazon store.)

Good to hear. I noticed leg cramps after I started using a sauna regularly and they went away when I hydrated better. I guess there is something to it!
