comment What does it mean if I burn more calories than I intake?
Before I stressed too much over calories and fat grams, I would concentrate on eating a balance of nutritious foods: veggies, proteins/fats - fish, chicken, meat etc., and some fruits. We don't cover diets on this site, but many weight loss programs start with lowering your carbohydrate intake (pizza, chips, bread, sugars). This q/a covers some basics about getting back in shape to help you get started. And no need for weight loss supplements. Good luck.

comment Workout using only dumbbells to burn fat and build muscles?
I agree with kettlebells, but I would not recommend an ab wheel to someone just starting out. Without a strong core and shoulders, the ab wheel can create injuries.

You could probably save some time by seeing a sports physical therapist to find out what is going on with your knee. They'll evaluate your knee and give you specific exercises.

comment Is it okay to swim in the middle of a lake?
@Jim, the boat arrived on shore with no one on board. As we walked up the beach we saw a mast in the distance, sticking up above a very concerned crowd who had called the Coast Guard.

comment Is it time for me to get serious about losing weight? (pics)
@Hituptony, the point is that my answer is "clear and accurate" and will be of benefit to Livingtitan should he follow the links and recommendations. If you want or need understanding of the proper use and application of BMI, I refer you to the CDC, WHO, and NIH. Any further questions or comments should probably be moved to chat.

@Livintitan, hopefully this is your wake up call. You can get help here along the way as you have more questions. Also, the NIH has some info to help you get started with a weight loss plan.

@Hituptony, I am aware of the pluses and minuses of BMI. However, the photos posted seem to confirm that in this case there is a correlation between the BMI value and "fatness." I read the article that you linked too, but I didn't find reference links to back up conclusion such as, "mathematical snake oil" and "That's total nonsense."

comment What causes fatigue and light head when running?
Have you checked with you doctor? The first step is to get medical clearance for exercise. There can be a number of causes of feeling lightheaded and having burning feet. Because these occur during your run, not just after your run, you would be better off checking with your doctor. If everything checks out ok, then you can modify you eating schedule, hydration, and monitor your heart rate/exertion levels.

ExRx is a good place to look up specific muscle groups for each exercise.
