Hmm.. thinking about editing it.. some how looks ok to me.. I mentioned I would like to see reputable programs and not tailor made programs by anyone. Let me see if I can further improve the question. Thanks for your suggestion :-)

comment Changing Starting strength to lose Fat
Hmm.. I read the regular book of SS, I can't recollect the edition. I might not have read it properly, I was happy increasing weight every week than every session. To be honest this was enjoyable and comfortable. Increasing the weight the next week was never a challenge the body was always ready for it. Thanks for the links.

Now that I read about Deloading in BB. I realize I have never deloaded atleast for 4-5 months barring the last 2 months :-( May be I never needed to because I never wanted to take my lifts beyond 200 lbs. Is it required ?

Thanks Jonty, what variations do you try ? How does less Calories on a non-workout day work for you ? IMO that hampers recovery at least for me :-(

I do two sets of warm ups and than 3 sets of actual exercise. I eat 6 times a day. Do you think if I start going beyond body weight in my lifts, I will start losing some extra fat ? The trouble is I first want to lose the excess fat and later I am willing try to go with increasing lifts again with surplus Calories.

Hi Dave, I am not sure about no. of times I "deloaded" ? To be honest I gained 5-10 lbs easily on each lift per week so I didn't care. Whenever I failed it was mostly because of an external factor like "sickness" or "fatigue". Also I never wanted to reach 300-400 lbs on any lift, all my current lifts are close to 190 lbs(bench, deadlift, squats), 40 pullups (8*5), 110 lbs overhead press. I have also been distracted in the last 2 months trying to fool around with the program because of my increased weight.I am happy with my current strength OR should I say I am afraid of putting on more fat :-(

Yevgenly very good answer. +1000 for mentioning "split routines - where you train each muscle once a week - are very inefficient for the vast majority of beginner & intermediate lifters. "

I agree with your answer mate on few exercises being better than more exercises. In some other answer I think I told you that nothing works for me apart from SS. I am not trying the Pyramid anyways, have learnt from my mistakes :-)

@Kate : I agree with your comment and Mark Rippetoe.. I fail fast on most programs because I cant keep on increasing the weight. +1 on the definition of "working" too, most people come out so tired from the Gym that they cant do anything meaningful after that.

Can someone get very ripped with the pyramid program with only one exercise(one obvious exercise) ?

@DaveLiepmann : Baiscally my question is "Does X work ?". The guy was just a reference. I was wondering if a program like X exists ? It can happen, I was first suggested a program like starting strength and than went on to read about SS and stronglifts ?

comment Should each day's lifting target one muscle group or multiple muscle groups?
Can you please give references to Jim Wendlers programs. This makes a lot of sense. Add strength + size routines together, this would give very good results.
