+1 for good old-fashioned paper and pen. I experiment at times with different apps, spreadsheets, but the notebook has been a constant "master" for the data.

+1 I buy it. Even the "biggest" abs aren't visible with fat over them, and less-developed abs can still show definition if the layer of fit is thin enough.

comment Wholegrains considered as slow digesting carbs?
It was re-opened because because of the "weight loss" part. That falls under body composition, which is on topic. The community may vote to close if it seems too tangential, but moderators are going to be hands-off on this one.

comment Does not starting with the empty bar in StrongLifts 5x5 really hinder your ability to add weight every workout?
Great point regarding soft tissue - that can rapidly become the bottleneck, as well as injury risk.

Clarified - it's not just lifting it 5 times, but that being the heaviest weight you can lift 5 times.

comment What kind of exercises can one do to just lose weight but not gain muscles?
Even if you gained no muscle at all (baffling, I agree @LegoStormtroopr), simply reducing the fat in your skin will increase definition.

comment Metallic taste/smell with exertion
Not sure in your scenario, but as one possible clue metallic taste is often a sign of being in ketosis. If you'ved burned off any available blood sugar during your push, perhaps there's a common cause?

comment Is this a suitable diet for weight loss?
The question is how to alter his diet for weight-loss. Seems on-topic to me; body composition is already in-scope.

comment How to solve major calorie deficiency problem for very active person on plant-based diet with insufficient appetite?
You may want to do a bit more research regarding the link to animal foods and diabetes. I was pre-diabetic a number of years ago, and fixed that problem (and quickly!) by switching to a Paleo-style diet. No arguments that processed foods are to be avoided.
