To lose a lot of fat mass, should I lift weights, do cardio, or both? I'm sure you've heard this before, but I just want to stress that strategizing how you are going to reduce portion sizes and get more vegetables into your diet in the face of constant temptation will have a much greater payoff than worrying about your exercise routine. Still a good question, but diet is far more important than what you do in the gym. |

How to lose weight when morbidly obese This answer does a great job of suggesting food alternatives, but it must be stressed that an essential aspect is simply eating less. Sure, eating better foods is better, but the most important thing is to eat less. |

Is engaging your core really about posture? I really like the phrase "lock in your posture." Thinking of it that way is helpful to me. I've also noticed that I'm more stable not when I suck in my stomach but when I do the opposite, as you mention. It's frustrating that this phrase would mean different things to different people. I would love to hear about those differences, but that's probably for another question. |

Is engaging your core really about posture? The phrase "brace yourself" is really helpful. Sounds like it's really about being strong and stable in whatever posture you're in, and that requires many of the muscles you mention. |

Is engaging your core really about posture? It's not too useful if it means different things to me and to the person saying it to me. |
