Is there any benefit of “real” running outdoors vs running on a treadmill in gym? I have to disagree on the "no opportunity for 'social' running" part. I have friends who run side-by-side with me on treadmills at the gym and converse. I don't see how that would be improved by running outdoors. |

What can cause severe muscle fatigue and even pain at wake-up? Not an answer - but is it possible you could arrange to sleep somewhere else for a night or two (hotel, parent's house, friend's house, etc) to see if the symptoms persist? This ought to tell you if the problem is environmental or not. |

Do people who lift weights twice per week need less protein than people who lift three times per week? +1, especially for the maximum figure. Very helpful. As for the "more difficult" factor - My question assumed that the 2 workouts per week person is doing the exact same workout progression as they would at 3 workouts per week, and just progressing more slowly. For example, those doing Stronglifts 5x5 always alternate a squats/benchpress/bent-over-rows workout with a squats/press/deadlift workout and add 5 lbs each time. |

Am I gaining fat or muscle - how can I tell? Gotcha. So if my clothes feel tighter that means more fat. Too bad. Well, from now on I'll be redoubling my dieting efforts. |

Am I gaining fat or muscle - how can I tell? @Ivo Filpse - I don't have a caliper, although perhaps I should get one. I do pinch myself. Using that method, I haven't noticed much of a difference between now and 4 months ago. I think maybe I'm seeing a slight fat loss, but the fact that my clothes are tighter and I weigh more makes me question my perceptions. |
