comment Performance standards for curls and other small muscle exercises
"more than before" = short term. Weight performance standards = longer term.

comment How dangerous are steroids (injections)?
The question is condemning their use, not condoning. Also steroids are legal in many countries of the world, quite likely as well in Morocco where the poster indicates they are from.

Useful question--I hope it doesn't get closed.

Loading and deloading the plates off the bar and plate trees?

So there's no succinct terminology to describe what I would have thought is quite a common request?

Standing, they just were diagonally behind and pushed up the bar in the middle with one hand. Only a slight assist but it definitely made it easier.

Is that because they're helping me get to a position I can't lower from safely?

Sorry, I should have mentioned last set is AMRAP so I can't nominate a number. I always require help unracking and racking however due to the rearward racking position.

Mark Rippetoe in his power clean video shows his students dropping the barbell (w/ bumper plates) from about chest height. If he's ok with it in his gym, then the owner of your gym might also be ok with it.

comment Rest between warm-up sets
Ah yes, I was getting the term assistance exercises mixed up with what GreySkull call "additional" exercises. Biceps curls for example, my goal is mass and strength here with 10-12 rep sets.

comment Rest between warm-up sets
Makes sense, however I would have thought that limiting rest periods on assistance exercises would bring fatigue on earlier, ultimately meaning lower work weights and thus lower strength gains, despite greater mass gains?

comment Chin-ups on a bar versus straps
Nice bar! Only one I've found locally in Australia is AUD180 with postage (150€). I'll check out the Home Depot equivalent this morning if I can get parts not requiring welding.

comment Why might assisted chin-ups not be recommended to build up to unassisted ones?
He also steers away from the assisted chin-up machines as well. I haven't seen his thoughts on partner assistance though.

He mentions it every now and again in his forum. I won't link as I'm pretty sure it requires login, but "Yes, ditch the band assisted chins lest you become extremely good at doing band assisted chins and little else.", "Band assisted chins are good for one thing, making you real good at doing band assisted chins.", and "If you're in a gym that has an assisted pullup machine, they probably have a pulldown setup. I like V handle pulldowns heavy and with good technique". I've never seen any reasoning beyond this. Of course I respect his experience, just interested in why it might be the case.

Not sure how I missed that. My apologies. I'll read and edit is possible.
