comment Exercises for a programmer sitting by the PC all day
@Dave Liepmann Deadlifts are a pulling exercise. The say squats work everything below the bar - including the back. The only thing not getting hit hard with those two exercises are tris and chest which is why the press is included.

comment How long should a person stick to the same weightlifting routine?
I think you misunderstand me. My definition of "routine" is the combination of exercises, weight, reps, number of sets, and order. Change any one of those things and it's a different routine. If you change the weight on a exercise, the number of reps, or the number of sets, that is, in effect, a new routine. So is doing different exercises than the day before. My point is, you have to change something to continue to improve.

comment At what temperature is Creatine destroyed when cooking meat?
Allow me to propose a parallel question to illustrate my point: Does sea water have enough water content to keep your hydrated? The answer is yes, but the question is fundamentally flawed since, if you drink sea water, you will go insane. Yes, you could get enough creatine from meat (even cooked meat), but you can't ignore the side-effects of eating such a large amount of meat to make a difference.

@Chris: Beans, nuts, tofu, and some whole grains. You can also use a protein supplement if you need more.

I could never stomach 10 a day. I could eat 2 or 3 and still enjoy them however.

comment Is Abnormal Sweating a physical disorder?
Same thing happens to me. To make matters worse, my sweat is slightly acidic. If I lean up against a wall I strip the paint off! Weird thing is, I never seem to smell bad after a workout, just sweat more than others. I've never worried about it.

Can you find a source for your first two paragraphs? I'd be interested to read more.

comment barbell squat wrist problems
My point was, if using the proper technique fixes your wrist problem, perhaps you should continue to use it.

comment How can I keep my balance while doing squats?
Where are you looking when you squat? Many people think that they should be looking at the ground when doing a squat in order to avoid injury. This is incorrect, you should be looking straight ahead. If you were trying to balance a broom vertically on your fingertip, you wouldn't look at your fingertip, you'd look at the top of the broom. Same concept here.

Ok, so more like a deadlift than a snatch, right?

comment Are certain muscles less prone to DOMS?
I have the same thing happen, but with my pecks. I work them extra hard, but they never hurt. I think it's just the way different muscles react to stimulus. Legs on the other hand... ouch.

I would as they're probably harder to wash than regular undies. They will need to be washed eventually however.

The one I use all the time is bodybuilding.com. If you can ignore the hard sell on supplements, they have some excellent articles on both nutrition and exercise.

You can stop drinking and eating all together on the last day if you want. Or weight yourself before you do eat and drink.

comment I missed a Starting Strength workout and squats are getting intense - should I change my schedule?
@Meade Rubenstein - by "reductin of rest periods" do you mean between sets? I think the question was asked on a longer timeline of days rather than minutes.
