Rotator cuff strengthening for shoulder overuse injury I would think a good indication you could start swimming again is once you no longer hear clicking, but otherwise I'm interested in the answers to the question as I've got a weakened left rotator cuff (due to acute injury) as well. |

What scientific evidence says cables build less muscle than free weights? Unless the Olympic lifter in question is consistently winning gold medals at every competition, it might be time to supplement the exercises. Some will argue that there's no need to do anything other than the two lifts, but Rippetoe has made a good argument that powerlifting lifts would be a great addition. Of primary importance for a BJJ player is grip strength, while that can be done with free weights, it's a lot easier to train solo with a machine. |

Is it safe to take a fiber cap with each meal? What are food prices like where you are that supplements are cheaper than actual food? |

How much weight would I need to gain if I increased my deadlift by 50 pounds? Being an untrained deadlifter, a significant chunk of your gains would be neuromuscular, so +50lbs to your deadlift wouldn't really add anything. |

Should i do cardio or weights first? You'll probably get conflicting answers here too. My best advice, although it isn't answering the question, is not to lift weights and run in the same session, as the suggestions on which to do first always hinge on which you want to get the benefits from - so whichever you choose, you're only benefitting from one of them. |

What's the benefit of a long tendon and short muscle belly in the forearm? It's something that can inform you what activities you might want to engage in or avoid if you want to be very successful at them. A long achilles tendon would inform you that you're well suited to running, while a short one might contraindicate it. Obviously you can't draw the same conclusions and say a short forearm muscle belly and long tendon means you're well suited to long distance hand stand races. |

Muscle gain: six-meals-a-day-diet foods? Do you mean for achieving weight gain or for avoiding weight gain? |

What can I do to rehabilitate my knee pain from running? What is your running technique? Are you landing on the mid/forefoot or are you heelstriking? |

Nutrition while dancing Salsa I used to dance (Ballet & Jazz rather than Salsa), and I'll ride my bike 110KM to run a marathon, and the ride 110KM back the next day. I know very well what I'm talking about when it comes to endurance. |

Nutrition while dancing Salsa that still doesn't help your case, high fat foods are among the best foods you could eat for sustained activity, like Salsa for 4 hours. If you look at his question, he asks what sorts of foods he should eat and when he should eat them. If you're going with the assumption that that's what he needs to do to gain weight, then answer is to eat high fat foods a couple hours before he goes to the salsa club. You're telling him to avoid the food he should actually be seeking out. |

Nutrition while dancing Salsa you could also have potential digestive issues from carbs or from proteins depending on what conditions a person might be predisposed to. There's no logical reason to single out fats. And not just that, also because you suggested he would see a weight gain just from eating more. Unless someone says they want to get more fat but not muscle, you have to suggest they engage in an activity that imposes a progressive overload on their muscles. |

Nutrition while dancing Salsa I figured the myth that fat is bad for you would have been smashed by now. Not to mention, if you're arguing someone should be increasing their caloric intake, why would you steer them away from foods you believe to be high in calories per mass? Also, since he's been doing that level of dancing for a long time now, it puts no strain on his muscles, so the only possible weight gain could come from additional fat being stored. He won't suddenly start growing muscle just by eating more. |

Is there any stretch (or place I can apply pressure) that specifically targets the ACL? I'll think about how I might be able to do something without oversimplifying. |

Why is the order of exercise routines important? The reasoning for the first part no. Your calves aren't really going to fatigue and they're what's holding you up when you're doing upper body workouts. I'm not sure what benefit you'd get from going lower-upper-lower-upper though. Makes the most sense to just do lower-upper and be done. |

Why are pyramid sets often advised for bodyweight exercises? @Moses - I'm not saying it's invalid, I'm just saying there might not be anything more to it. You can be sure that Stronglifts 5x5 is 5x5 and not 5x6 simply because 5x5 is more aesthetically pleasing in text. |

Is there any stretch (or place I can apply pressure) that specifically targets the ACL? If you have an injury on one side, the other has to compensate and can develop problems as a result. There's multiple trigger points, even if based on copyright rules the page count isn't high enough to be violating the rules, I'd still need to get a scanner. |

Why are pyramid sets often advised for bodyweight exercises? They look so pretty if you graph them out, I can't help but think that just maybe they're chosen for their aesthetic value (people have thrown programs together far more randomly). |

What scientific evidence says cables build less muscle than free weights? That's a good point, particularly with a 3x/week workout schedule. Stronglifts 5x5 suggests something similar, with the squat as the core exercise and the deadlift every 2nd exercise. |

Are these Weight Watchers brand foods healthy? You can balance out a high sodium intake by drinking more water, so that isn't a huge problem. |

Are these Weight Watchers brand foods healthy? Do you have a meal delivery service available to you? Where I am there's a service called better meals, mainly intended for seniors, that makes healthy complete meals for you at an affordable price, and will take dietary considerations into account. They're also quite tasty. You might have to ask your grandparents/aunts/uncles to be able to find it. |
