comment Nutrition while dancing Salsa
I figured the myth that fat is bad for you would have been smashed by now. Not to mention, if you're arguing someone should be increasing their caloric intake, why would you steer them away from foods you believe to be high in calories per mass? Also, since he's been doing that level of dancing for a long time now, it puts no strain on his muscles, so the only possible weight gain could come from additional fat being stored. He won't suddenly start growing muscle just by eating more.

comment Is there any stretch (or place I can apply pressure) that specifically targets the ACL?
I'll think about how I might be able to do something without oversimplifying.

comment Why is the order of exercise routines important?
The reasoning for the first part no. Your calves aren't really going to fatigue and they're what's holding you up when you're doing upper body workouts. I'm not sure what benefit you'd get from going lower-upper-lower-upper though. Makes the most sense to just do lower-upper and be done.

comment Why are pyramid sets often advised for bodyweight exercises?
@Moses - I'm not saying it's invalid, I'm just saying there might not be anything more to it. You can be sure that Stronglifts 5x5 is 5x5 and not 5x6 simply because 5x5 is more aesthetically pleasing in text.

If you have an injury on one side, the other has to compensate and can develop problems as a result. There's multiple trigger points, even if based on copyright rules the page count isn't high enough to be violating the rules, I'd still need to get a scanner.

They look so pretty if you graph them out, I can't help but think that just maybe they're chosen for their aesthetic value (people have thrown programs together far more randomly).

comment What scientific evidence says cables build less muscle than free weights?
That's a good point, particularly with a 3x/week workout schedule. Stronglifts 5x5 suggests something similar, with the squat as the core exercise and the deadlift every 2nd exercise.

comment Are these Weight Watchers brand foods healthy?
You can balance out a high sodium intake by drinking more water, so that isn't a huge problem.

Do you have a meal delivery service available to you? Where I am there's a service called better meals, mainly intended for seniors, that makes healthy complete meals for you at an affordable price, and will take dietary considerations into account. They're also quite tasty. You might have to ask your grandparents/aunts/uncles to be able to find it.

It's worth pointing out that Figure 8-2 in Rippetoe's own book suggests that the deadlift actually is better than the back squat for exactly that. Still a barbell exercise, so for the purposes of the question it's moot, but I find that discrepancy worth investigating.

comment What is a good early morning stretch routine?
I would think it's more likely DOMS that's causing you grief after playing squash than any muscle shortening. How balanced is your strength for agonist and antagonist muscle pairs? Having one be significantly stronger/weaker than the other will lead to flexibility problems.

comment Running and hypertrophy at the same time: is it possible?
Pick any book by Mike Mentzer, John Little or Ellington Darden. They'll tell you 3x/week lifting is overtraining, even without running. Optimal recovery time for hypertrophy is one week between workouts. PEDs let you break those rules.

comment Can I use a heart monitor overnight to determine my resting heart rate?
It could be quite uncomfortable if you toss and turn, so wearing it while sleeping is something only some people could do.

Are you stiff only in the morning for the first hour or are you finding yourself getting stiffer throughout the day?

comment What's the exact effect of this training regime? (12-15 reps, 30s - 1min break, 3 sets)
Were you adjusting weights for progressive overload on that program? If you're starting out light, doing bodyweight exercise will increase your weight due to muscle mass, meaning you have progressive overload built in. If you're not taking advantage of that progressive overload when lifting weights, that could be one explanation as to why you're seeing better results from the bodyweight exercise.

How often are you lifting? 3x/week running plus 3x/week lifting means you're overtraining unless you're taking PEDs.

If you know what epsom salts are, you wouldn't need reasoning to back them up. There's plenty of info out there. Educate yourself, don't expect to be fed everything on a platter.

comment Want to lose weight, need advice
Ignoring advice doesn't make much sense, that's like saying ignore any advice on fitness.se because it's partially correct and partially incorrect and there's no way of knowing which is true.

Is English your second language? It's quite clear from my answer that I'm talking about personal experience. Also, a simple internet search will tell you what epsom salts are.
