If you consume a lot of protein but don't exercise does it go to waste? @StupidOne even so, according to that I would have been putting on fat. the calorie hypothesis is grossly oversimplified, and the claim that it'll get converted to fat ignores the fact that we have bowel movements |

If you consume a lot of protein but don't exercise does it go to waste? Not necessarily. If that were the case I would have been putting on fat going to AYCE sushi on a regular basis with no exercise. |

Should my wrists have the pressure on them when I benchpress? with barbell or dumbbells? |

Should I get rid of my office chair ? That makes sense, rather like the advice for first wearing minimalist shoes. |

Hat diet properties hay or hat? also, are you considering it just on its own or in conjunction with an exercise program? |

Should I get rid of my office chair ? There was an anecdote I heard about a rather successful businessman (can't remember his name) who said he tried to get almost all his work done within the first hour. If your boss cares about results more than how you get them, it might be possible to solve that issue. |

Should I get rid of my office chair ? Interestingly, while sitting on a ball worked well for me as a kid, I actually experienced more pain when I tried replacing my regular chair with it. I still think it's probably a good idea to try, but worth keeping in mind that sometimes good ideas cause problems anyway. |

Pain on the top of my foot Good idea with the lace tying. While I had pressure over the top of my foot I experienced shin splints instead of pain directly on it, but it's definitely a good idea and very easy to implement. |

Are there health risks associated with protein shakes? There's lots of things that could produce side effects. If someone has a mild intolerance to one of the ingredients, you could get some compounded problems over time even if you're taking (for example) half the recommended dosage. Stuff like that will of course confound whether you could in general expect problems. |

What is the best time of the day for High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)? I'd experiment with various times of the day, and see what feels best. If a scientific study recommends doing it in the morning but you're not a morning person, it doesn't work out well for you anyway. |

Any recommended absolute minimum diets? I find both milk and bread to be really expensive where I live. That's clearly going to be confounding here. |

Are there health risks associated with protein shakes? You could potentially ruin your kidneys if you overdo it. I don't know specifically what shakes were used, or how much, but I do know someone who went to the hospital with kidney failure due to protein supplement abuse. I've also had a doctor recommend against taking extra protein entirely, wasn't a long visit so I didn't have a chance to pick her brain as to why. So short answer is yes, long answer I don't know enough to give you anything better. |

How many sets per muscle? @MikeS this is pointless since I'm stating the obvious, so this is my last response. You can reduce muscle size. |

Is it not worth it to go for a workout over 1.5 hours? At the very least, after you hit a certain point, you're no longer benfitting from the additional time doing the workouts. The minimum amount of time you need to put in to actually make significant gains isn't that much. |

Presses or squats first? At the moment the deadlift doesn't give me any problems, so I can put it adjacent to the squat without worrying, but when that doesn't last, do you think throwing chin ups in between would do the trick? |

How many sets per muscle? @MikeS shrinking it, you know, exactly like what a sculptor does with a large block of rock. that's what arnold did, he went up to 250lbs just in bulk, and then sculpted down to 235lbs |

How many sets per muscle? @MikeS low reps is the fastest way to get strength, both in terms of workout length and total length of time. quickly gaining strength is the best way to achieve any other goals. you can get strong doing most things, but the OP is not satisfied with the results that he's getting, so he's best off switching to a program that consistently gets similar results for everyone |

How many sets per muscle? @MikeS actually there's plenty of literature on Arnold that contradicts what you say, but if you've already decided what you will and won't accept, there's no educating you |
