Training background:
- Childhood: playground soccer, ice hockey, cross country skiing, swimming

- 1986-2000. Tried various martial arts, fencing, weightlifting, played in lower divisions of basketball. Constant problems with knees and back.
- 2000-2007. Sporadic training due to becoming the father of twins, weightlifting, running, was only consistent with two years of Jodo. BMI peaked at 27 in 2002

Making a training plan for medieval swordsmen / reenactment You should mix technical traning with low intensity with applied (i.e. doing the fights) conditioning and strength. Do you really have the time to do starting strength 2-3 times per week? I am not so sure that raw strength from lifting weights directly translates to an efficient strike in a messy situation |

Ways to motivate employers for exercise time? This is a highly relevant problem for organizations. And motivation for teams/groups to do physical exercise has an interesting angle. |

Going to compete 5km outdoor breaststroke @Ruben, can you add some more info on the race (sea, stream, ..), your background in swimming and your current status (speed etc). Maybe the key will be the transition from "couch potato" to "steady state training", adding too much training too fast isn't usually a good thing. |

Suffering from Flat foot need advise of leg excercises Suffering from a little pain from time to time is in itself not a reason to go to a doctor, especially if you know your body well or have been training for a longer time. Perhaps you can change the question, e.g. "how do I build strength and muscles in my legs without putting significant load on my feet" That you suffer from flat foot is in that context less relevant. Or add something that you already have a green light to train from a doctor. |

Are there any advantages of being an ectomorph? Welcome to this site Owen! Your answer would be better if you added some references that support your arguments. |

Why are strength programs made the way they are - much of the same, regular intervals, same program for a long time Isn't there supposed to be an optimal "time under tension" per timeperiod (e.g. weeks) for muscles? This and the desire to stress the muscles could explain e.g. 3x5 or 5x5. |

Firstbeat Energy Expenditure Algorithm Given that they use neural networks as the main technology component, it might be difficult to scientifically explain the mapping (see "Disadvantages" in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_neural_network) |

is it necessary to do exercise that target only one muscle a day Check out this question, fitness.stackexchange.com/q/7642/3778 about why sprinters look the way they do. Mostly compound, high intensity exercises, no/little isolated exercises |
