Dumbbell weight training for distance running I disagree with your disagreement because 1) the "cardio" in this type of workout is very anaerobic in nature and there are several benefits to anaerobic conditioning for 5k-10k runs 2) training the upper body increases posture and core stabilization - both important for running 3) you need something active for days where you give your legs a day off. |

How can I increase my pull-ups reps? This is nitpicky but the NFL combine record for 225 bench reps 49, set this year: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/27/… Most players, depending on position, get somewhere in the 20-35 range. |

Should I drink water during my workout? +1 for drinking more before your training. I find that staying very hydrated through the day in addition to taking exactly one swallow of water during each pause in my workout is optimal. |
