comment Sport Specific Lifts - Tennis
Understood. I am just looking for central areas to focus on while everything else becomes supplemental - for instance how a football player (which I used to be) focuses 1/2 of the lifts on things involving hip/lower body explosion (squats/cleans) and lifts that emphasize pressing since creating separation with your arms is key in line play and in shedding blockers... with the other half of the workouts being supplemental for the rest of the body (or so was my experience). Both 5x5's seem fine for increasing general strength, which I'll probably roll with. Thanks.

comment How deep should a squat be?
Agreed 100% - at no part of a squat should your muscles be in a relaxed state. This includes the end of the lift when you are standing upright - if the muscles in your legs are relaxed, that means you are standing with your knees locked holding way more weight than you are accustomed to holding. Stay tensed up during the entirety of a set.

comment How to lose manboobs?
md5sum's answer sums it up nicely. It's worth noting that there is no such thing as spot reduction. Doing lots of chest exercises will not result in lost fat on your chest. Your body will decide what fat to burn first on its own.

comment Are there any specific exercises I can do to strengthen my knee?
@steve-jackson Maybe not remove, but de-emphasize. When I read the question originally I fixated on the injury and not what you were really asking (how to strengthen the knee).

Honestly, this sounds more like a question that should be asked of a physician. It'd be hard for us to know enough about the specific nature of your injury in order to recommend specific exercises that wouldn't cause unnecessary pain/discomfort or re-injury.

why the downvote here? This seems like a perfectly legitimate answer.
