comment Stronglifts 5v5 : Where do I go from here?
I think youre not getting what I am saying. It does not matter if youre checking your progress by looking at your self in the mirror or at your scales and various numbers. The definition of your muscles is defined by how much fat is covering them. The more fat, the less defined are the muscles. People like to measure their bf% so that they can see progress before its visible in the mirror. You dont have to. But your goal is still lowering your BF% while maintaining existing muscle mass, at least if you want to have defined, toned muscles.

Well, as a starter, muscle definition is ALL about body fat % once you have some muscle mass.

I dont think fasting 1 day a week is a good idea, for various reasons. Dieting aint such a simple matter, and netiher is understanding the ways that eating patterns affect ones metabolism. Also, there are limits to how much weight can be lost from fat, and not muscle etc. You have a point, meaning that diet IS the most important factor, and that balancing overeating with exercise alone is extremely hard. But the rest of your answer is misleading or not optimal.

comment Cable Squats vs Smith Machine Squats
Altho this remark is a bit remotely related to the question being asked, Id say both types of squats are easier than barbell squats, as there is less stabilization work involved.

comment Recomposition vs weight loss
For a start (I havent researched the merit of your proposed method) you should adjust your BF percentages to take gender into account - a man at BF10% looks ripped, but a woman is probably very unhealthy at BF10%, as it is the essential fat reserve for her body.

comment Recomposition vs weight loss
Well, from my personal experience - I tend to gain fat too, if trying to gain some muscle mass. I believe it to be depending on a particular person, not diet strictness. To gain mass, you need to be in a caloric surplus, and that can mean gaining fat. When I try to gain, I make sure to get enough protein and training, still, the fat finds its way to get stored as a byproduct. Yet I knew some people who seemed to have a lesser tendency to store fat while bulking.

comment Eating enough carbohydrates to build muscle
To be honest, you could eat as little as 50g of carbs per day. Its a bit extreme, but a ketogenic diet has its upsides. Check the eating academy for some info on the low carb diet.
