comment Will a vegan diet help for weight loss and physique?
It is not strictly better, at least no studies that I know of show that it is. Its just an alternative. Also, vegan might have problems with acquiring some amino-acids that cant be synthesized by the human body.

comment Do I need to compensate for calories spent exercising on a day to day basis?
Dont believe blindly in calorie expenditure calculations, they can be very inacurrate. If youre not hungry, dont eat more. Just remember to eat enough protein to prevent muscle loss. Around 2g/kg of bodyweight daily should do fine.

Great. The qeustion I linked will probably help you a lot with your goals. Dont think youll turn into a Hulk incidentally. It is VERY hard work, very specialised trainign and eating regimen, and it takes years of strictly bodybuilding effort to look like that. Strength thraining alone does not make you a Hulk. Also, please use the option to edit your question, and clarify there - this site works a lot better that way. Please see our faq to see why we are different than disscussion groups and how to properly use the site for full benefits :)

What do you want to achieve? Do you want to be fit, athletic, in the sense you can run long and fast and lift heavy things? Maybe you want to gain some muscle and look muscular, sculpted and toned? You have to define your goal. Right now it seems your goal seems to be "change my lifestyle to a healthier one" but thats too broad. To really help you, we need to know what do you want to achieve by the lifestyle change. Im guessing you want to get some muscles - please see this: fitness.stackexchange.com/questions/6828/…

comment Pre-workout - static vs dynamic stretches
Good range of motion is all fine by itself. As I said, stretches are good and I do them myself! But the studies I provided show that they DONT decrease ones DOMS and they DONT help prevent injuries in a significant way. maybe those studies are wrong and their authors made mistakes constructing them. Maybe there are more recent studies supporting your claims. But until someone shows them to me, Im gonna say that there is no need to do stretches DIRECTLY BEFORE OR AFTER A TRAINING SESSION

comment Walking vs Biking a mile
Okay then :) In my opinion, its of little to no difference for your goals. Just do what you enjoy more. Remember - proper diet is 80% of success. If you can afford to include some more physical activity into your weekly plans, please do so. You will find great advice on training plans that help accomplish your goals on our site.

comment What is a good metric for defining an ideal weight?
Dont aim at a weight, aim at a body fat percentage. Or a waist circumference, if measuring your BF% is too difficult.

comment Walking vs Biking a mile
Define what is "more exercise". Also, its hard to tell what are you actually asking. Are you asking what is better for you: to walk or cycle that mile? If so, you have to tell us what are you trying to accomplish, otherwise its like asking "whats better, chicken soup or sunbathing?"

comment Muscular body building by gym
Clear language barrier. Please try using google translate or asking someone to help you formulate your question properly. If youre asking if "going to the gym is worth it, my goal is gaining weight and toned physique" then the answer is "yes it is. you will have to do some form of resistance training and weight training is a good one"

@JohnP I did aswer it. She says so because she is wrong, and the problem is that they dont do you any good. Now if you have other studies that prove the one I provided wrong, then please share with us.

@Matt Chan sure, I coudl elaborate, but I thought I summarised it already saying that "stretching does not prove to be useful before training at all" ;)
