comment How to reduce belly?
Spot reduction of fat is a myth. Weightloss is also a deceiving term. Maybe you are not losing weight but you are losing fat and bulding muscle? Please see this question: fitness.stackexchange.com/questions/13255/…

@LegoStormtroopr would you kindly check the dates? My question was here first, as I'm quite sure July comes before August. Also, check my comment on my answer, and your own comment on it :)

What are you asking? For excercises that will prvent "activeness boredom" at work? Lose the "belly weight"? Clarify what you want to achieve.

comment Is there such a thing as a minimum amount of exercise per week?
Being healthy would be lowering your cholesterol, lowering your heart deasease risk etc. Being fit is looking good and being able to do athletic performance on some level, for example run, swim, climb, lift things etc. Climbing stairs and running up to a bus stop without losing your breath may be examples of being "fit" to some degree, but also being able to run a 5/10/42km race.

IF going by the bare minimum to "be healthy" you could do some low intensity daily. For example it is recommended to walk for half an hour every day. But being "healthy" (whatever that means) is outside of the scope of this site. If you want to be fit, you probably will have to exercise overy other day, doing quite intense workouts.

comment Advantages of using the sidestroke
@Informaficker Well, Im surprised I didnt actually google the term, probably because I was sure I knew what the sidestroke is. Thanks to your wikipedia link i found this one: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_sidestroke and it seems to answer my question. Feel free to write an answer quoting it!

Also, @Informaficker, the first "name" of the excercise could be left somewhere in the text. Not everyone looking for info on that exercise will know the name "bodyweight inverted row", mart didnt. We are to be googleable.

If you can write a better answer that respects these assumptions (we dont want a specific case-tailored high detail answer) then please do just that. Just have a typical office worker who wants to get in shape in mind, not a professional or amateurish athlete, as such athletes would ask completely different sorts of questions.

comment How to lose fat fast and healthily?
@Dmoore - the whole point of this answer is to be generic and guideline-ish. I believe that my comment on it, and the fact that this is a community wiki question indicate this well enough. This is an answer that is supposed to help completely new people get an idea about what should they actually ask, so that the questions arent all nonsense. The question cannot be answered more specifically exacly because it is designed to be a 'catch all' reference point, so we dont get "how much crunches do I have to do to get abs" questions, and if we do, we can link this for the freshman.

Basically, we have seen tons of questions on weightloss on the site, and many of them are almost exact duplicates, but ive felt we were lacking a basic compendium question and answer we could refer to. Many people asking about the weightloss face the XY problem, so I figure this would be usefull to them - this could help them ask the correct questions :)

comment Will a vegan diet help for weight loss and physique?
It is not strictly better, at least no studies that I know of show that it is. Its just an alternative. Also, vegan might have problems with acquiring some amino-acids that cant be synthesized by the human body.
