comment My ribs are aching after a pushup. What's wrong?
The pain is in your rib bone?

How would the answer to this affect your fitness? This is more a biology question, I think.

comment Is there any way I can convince companies I'm in great shape, despite my BMI results?
What other data do you have? Marathon/10k times? Lift numbers? VO2 max? How can you demonstrate your being in great shape to them?

@Handprint Why I thought the last paragraph of your question was off-topic is because you haven't actually told us what your injury is, only symptoms, and we are very rarely able to diagnose an injury. Had you asked something about a specific, diagnosed injury, like "I've pulled my hamstring while doing squats. How should I return to activity?", that would be better (meta.fitness.stackexchange.com/questions/17/…).

@Handprint I don't have any more sway than other users. Discussions about scope happen at meta.fitness.stackexchange.com.

The rest of the question (asking for what other people have experienced with PT) is off-topic. Please read the FAQ.
