In a bench press, are there any tricks for determining which muscles are the weakest? @DaveLiepmann Whoops, that would be Dumbbell Shoulder Press and Dumbbell Pench Press. |

In a bench press, are there any tricks for determining which muscles are the weakest? All my exercises are done with proper form, no jerking or jumping or lazy lifts. I'll provide more info asap. |

In a bench press, are there any tricks for determining which muscles are the weakest? Well when you do curls for example, you'll feel your biceps burn if you do lo-weight/hi reps. Or if using heavy weights you are able to lift and know if your biceps are working. With bench, I think I might get mechanically confused and not sure how to push. I don't know. |

In a bench press, are there any tricks for determining which muscles are the weakest? See, your last comment pretty much points out my issue. I can push a lot of weight with many exercises, but my bench press is where I am stumped. I've been thinking of hiring a personal trainer to help me out with that. |

Nutrition while dancing Salsa I've been using my heart monitor for 2-3 months now and it's been pretty accurate. The reason I say that is because I can consume the equivalent of my the monitor says I burned and my weight will not change. That includes doubling my caloric intakes when I burn more than 3000 calories above my usual daily caloric expenditure. |

Nutrition while dancing Salsa Just for the heck of it I wore my heart monitor for a 2 hour session of salsa dancing recently and I burned 1800 calories. Max heart rate shot up to 168 bpm. So you burn crap loads of calories dancing. |

Nutrition while dancing Salsa I go salsa dancing like crazy and I tell you you will not gain weight dancing. You'll have to fight just to maintain your current weight. So lifting weights is the only way to gain weight. |

How many Burpees do I have to do per day to lose a lot of fat fast? Losing weight is all about motivation. Once you start feeling even a little bit healthier you'll really want to get into other exercises. Get yourself some kettlebells or dumbbells and increase your muscle mass. Some good music will also help. |

How to take advantage of a cable machine when you've maxed it out? @fire.eagle Can't, it's bolted to the floor. But good suggestion. |

How to take advantage of a cable machine when you've maxed it out? @DaveLiepmann I've been going to the gym overall for about 15 years, and just started working out again 1.5 years ago after about 8 years hiatus. But this time I'm actually learning. Having said that, for each session I do one multi-join exercise followed by a bunch of others. So on leg day I do deadlifts and the others I mentioned for legs. On shoulder day I do shoulder press and other shoulder exercises plus arms. And chest day I do bench press and then dumbbell press, flies, etc. I'll eventually add a second multijoin exercise per session, but not yet. |

How to take advantage of a cable machine when you've maxed it out? My deadlifts are at 270 lbs, my squat was at 320 lbs; not counting the bar. |

How to take advantage of a cable machine when you've maxed it out? @DaveLiepmann For the same reason I wouldn't do incline bench press, decline bench press and regular bench press in one workout. I'll do one for a couple of months, then switch to another, etc. |

How to take advantage of a cable machine when you've maxed it out? I used to do squats a long time ago, but have put it aside for deadlifts for the time being. |
