I'm a software engineer.

I started training with weights seriously about three years ago when my coworkers got me into CrossFit. Before that I'd been seriously into yoga.

I am by no means an expert but I am continually educating myself on fitness, and training myself. My ideal physique is strong and "functional". I want it all: strength, power, speed, and endurance. The only sport I play is tennis.

BW: 173lbs Bodyfat: ~13-14%

Current best lifts as of Dec. 2012 (in pounds):

315 back squat (ass to grass)
385 deadlift
145 shoulder press
145 overhead squat
225 squat clean
14 strict pullups

@DaveLiepmann Well, if someone wanted to ask about a complete weights routine, I would jump in there ;).

@DaveLiepmann I don't feel qualified to take a stab at this. I am really a neophyte to the fitness world and am continually being introduced to new modes of excellence. I could only repeat what other more qualified people have said in books. Maybe if someone defined "general fitness", but I don't even know if that's possible.

I really like this one. For the Luddite workout, I wanted to mention a few things specifically. The Tabata protocol for sprints is proven effective for hypertrophy and conditioning (8 repetitions of sprint 20s, rest 10 seconds). A great high intensity conditioning workout is AMRAP (as many repititions as possible) burpees, for somewhere between 5-15 minutes. Finally, there are several arm balances from the floor which can build upper body strength & total body flexibility without weights. "Crow pose", "Scale pose" and "Firefly pose" are good ones.

comment What additional exercises do I add to the Madcow 5x5 program?
BTW, I just realized that you have a big-ass benchpress and a relatively light squat. It might actually be true that you can't annihilate your legs with a 5x5 sets across. You might be in a weird situation where you need periodization to progress your bench but your best squat and deadlift gains would come from linear progression (SS/SL).

I agree with Informaflicker. This question is waste of time right now.

Are we talking least equipment or least # of movements. Barbell makes a big difference.

I'll check this out the next time I feel it happening. But, I'm not on a low carb diet, so I'm not sure how much it applies to me.
