Excercises to try correct knees pointing inward @MartyWallace You have to do more than just forcing your knees straight while standing on the train. Please see my latest (edited) answer. |

Is it necessary to warm up before doing a modest number of push ups? If you are doing push-ups first thing in the morning right after you get our of bed, then the answer is absolutely yes. The warm-up could be jumping jacks. However, if you are doing push-ups during the day (after you showered and already at work, etc.), then the answer is not necessary. |

Half pull up for the Lats @Geek You may want to start adding exercises that will isolate your scapulae a little more. For example, you can try 3 sets of 15-20 reps (3-5 lbs) of Stability Ball Prone T's and Y's. Try to focus on squeezing your scapulaes together, instead of trying to lift your arms up higher. I treat lots of overhead athletes, and this is a very common problem that I see. You also should try the push-up plus to strengthen your Sarratus Anterior as this is one of the most important scapulae stabilizer muscles. Hope this helps! |

Why is the single leg deadlift stiff-legged? @zero-divisor You are correct regarding the paper. The paper is to prove the muscle recruitment when doing stiff-legged deadlifts. With this evidence, I thought I also gave you my reasoning for the "single leg exercises to include single leg stiff-legged deadlift. Please let me know if I'm not understanding your questions. |

Need exercise recommendations for abs, triceps and biceps to incorporate into Stronglifts 5x5 @MarcoLeblanc I agree with your statement. It's not subjective at all. EMG studies show that combo lifts like rows and pull-ups/chin-ups activate biceps tremendously. Although these lifts are not as bicep-isolated when comparing to bicep curls per se; however, we are able to lift a lot more weights when we do rows, pull-ups/chin-ups. Thus, our biceps actually develop quiet well with combo lifts over time due to the fact that it is easier to increase more load with these lifts (more muscles assisting). This will result in more muscle mass, assuming with proper rest and nutrition. |
