I'm passionate about coding and researching the history of technology as well as exploring where technology is leading.
I used to work in flight simulation doing both hardware implementation (electrical design, wiring), web development (design, development, webmaster), as well as software development (desktop development in C#).
I'm a big fan of both using and contributing to Open source projects.
I am the creator of the pypreprocessor library that can be found on PYPI as well as Google code.

Best exercise to lose belly fat fast @ldx Also, checkout this link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excess_post-exercise_oxygen_consumption that I got from this question fitness.stackexchange.com/q/997/501. It talks specifically about post-exercise oxygen consumption (oxygen used during recovery for recovery) and the different results shown by aerobic/anaerobic exercise. |

Best exercise to lose belly fat fast @Idx Damn... That info in the link showed some impressive results in the studies. I've always done 1/mi sprints (excluding warm-up/cool-down) at high intensity approaching maximum with some lifting and yielded good results with minimum time spend in the gym. I'll definitely have to try this out, looks like I still have some room for improvement. Especially since it's really difficult to sustain high intensity where I live (Denver 5280ft above sea level). |

Best exercise to lose belly fat fast @Sparafusile Considering his BMI 28.7, he's on the high side of overweight (don't mistaken with obese) if you trust the calculator. Which means he should be burning more energy during regular workouts anyway. 2 lbs/week is a good limit for dieting alone because you don't want to cut your diet to an unhealthy low intake. But, with an effective exercise regiment, it's not hard to target better results without sacrificing health because working out burns more stored energy without sacrificing vitamins/nutrients the way a drastic diet does. In short, don't deter because it *can be done. |

Best exercise to lose belly fat fast @Sparafusile Scratch the downvote (I don't think I had enough points to downvote at the time I commented anyway :)). I think the point I was trying to make was, to answer the Op's question "Best exercise to lose fat fast" (forget the 'belly' part, you already addressed that), there are exercise that yield more effective results. |

What exercises are good to build up to performing chin-ups? Palms facing toward you = chin ups, palms facing away = pull ups. |

Doing it right: sit-ups @Uw and @Samuel Work your way up to leg hanging leg raises youtube.com/watch?v=G0ysNevIv0w (Note: the buddy giving out occasional 'come on' and 'good job buddy' is mandatory) or youtube.com/watch?v=wr4-McBOJCg&feature=related. If you want abs any bigger than the guy in the second vid you'll have to take steroids or some other form of illegal drugs because abs any bigger than that aren't natural. |

Muscle building exercises without looking like the Hulk, think toned and defined @Samuel Why would you. The 'buff' look appeals to other guys more than it does to women. I usually look suspiciously at guys in the gym who approach me and ask "how much do you bench" because it sounds too much like a damn pick-up line. I work out to have a physique slightly more muscular than Brad Pitt does in the movie Snatch (lean/strong/cut). Plus, females love it. |

Is 3400 calories a day unreasonable for me? Check out this link to get an idea of how many different calories different activities burn nutribase.com/exercala.htm. If you read the resource as canon then (9 * 400 + 3 * 500) That's 4600 calories/week for activities alone or about 660/day increase. |

Is 3400 calories a day unreasonable for me? @Salsero69 Maybe for a woman of average height/weight. I think 2000 is used because it's marketable (easy to remember). In your case you're 5'10" which is taller than the average and 200lbs. Those 2 characteristics alone should bring your caloric expenditure up a bit. The activity accounts for the rest. It doesn't seem like an unreasonable number. |

Is 3400 calories a day unreasonable for me? I agree. 3400 isn't that really that high if you are doing a lot of active stuff. 9 hours of dancing and 3 hours of weight lifting should burn a considerable number of calories. The only thing that I think might bring the number down a little is your age. I've lost 5-7 pounds in a month from Snowboarding 3 days a week while living on a diet of mostly greasy burgers and a considerable amount of beer/alcohol. Now, I'm definitely no slouch when I ride but that's a lot of calories burned (and I was out of shape when I started so I was building muscle too). |
