comment What are the biological processes behind the sensation of “being hungry”?
I'd be interested to know why hunger comes in waves. I have the vague notion that it might be related to some homoeostatic process, although I'm sure psychological factors (like attention) come in to play. I have fasted today and I am experiencing a wave of hunger having felt very little in the last 4 hours.

comment Bench press grip width?
The position of elbow relative to the shoulder changes the width of the grip where the forearms are straight. Where should the bar be on the chest to gauge this width? Nipples?

comment Form Check on Squats: Elbow Tension
Isn't the bar too far down the back? When I squat the bar touches my neck resting on the two muscles that, uh, lie between the collar bone and traps, directly on top (what are they called?). I'm not sure if that's entirely correct but the bar does look a little like it's sliding down the back.

comment talking to others at a gym
I'd suggest two hours is too long, perhaps you would be less likely to grow bored if you worked at a higher intensity or effort level for a shorter time. Personally, I would not be particularly able to talk and would much less want to when I am working out because my mind is focused on dealing with discomfort of whatever I'm doing. That said I do see people on machines reading and watching television quite happily, but I do think there is some value in pushing yourself past the ability to talk :). Headphones are a godsend too. Perhaps not the solipsist approach you're after..

comment Foods I can eat a lot of and still be healthy
Yes protein is quite satiating, isn't it. I notice this after drinking whey protein. I wonder if a low carbohydrate protein shake might be diet aid.
