The short answer is no. You can't spot reduce a specific area on your body. You can, however, undertake an exercise program that will help you reduce and lower overall body fat content.

Do your friends have the ability to see the future? Assuming you have no existing conditions, there's no way for them to predict your potential for future knee problems. If I were you, I'd take the stairs while you still can. It's good for your body and your heart.
