Apps like Runkeeper have a number of different exercise types to help track the type of workout that you've done. Some of the ones built into Runkeeper include Strength Training, Circuit Training, Core Strengthening, and Bootcamp. What is the best activity type for tracking the 7 Minute Workout routines?

  • What is the 7 minute workout routine? There are a few of them. – DeeV Jul 15 at 22:46
  • @DeeV Wouldn't they all be tracked in the same way? I use the Johnson & Johnson 7 Minute Workout app, often using their "smart workout" functionality which gives me between 1 and 3 (often 2 or 3) sets of 12 exercises from their library of 72 exercises, with 3 each of upper body, lower body, core, and full body exercises. Sometimes, I'll use one of their prebuilt routines, again usually the 2-3 set ones. – Thomas Owens Jul 15 at 22:55

Not necessarily. "X Minute Workout" is a generic name usually applied to short, intense workouts. I'm not familiar with how Runkeeper tracks these days so I can't answer definitively, but that looks like a circuit training. – DeeV Jul 15 at 23:19
  • @DeeV Thanks. I knew that there were a lot of different 7 Minute Workout routines and apps, but I figured they were all roughly the same. I also thought that it could be circuit training. I was initially thinking strength training, but some of the exercises are more cardio or incorporate cardio. I'll see if anyone else has any insight, but I'm just looking to get a reasonable approximation of the workout. – Thomas Owens Jul 15 at 23:28

My 7 minute workout routine is a top set of deadlifts and the rest period. :D – C. Lange Jul 16 at 4:06
