Feb 23, 2018 at 22:35 comment added Esrien when the arms are elevated you engage pulling motions with the lower trapezium and you don't use at all your upper trapezius, when your arms are horizontal you use your upper and middle trapezius but mostly your middle trap. The lying variation uses less overall lower, middle and upper trapezium muscles because the shoulders are already stabilized by the ground so it's another good option.
