Jul 22, 2016 at 21:14 comment added JohnP @JJosaur - He isn't asking for a list of stretches. He's asking for the different types of stretching (ballistic, static, dynamic, PNF), and the characteristics of each. It might be a little broad, but I think eminently answerable.

Jul 21, 2016 at 12:06 comment added Sean Duggan This feels too much like a shopping recommendation to add it as an answer, but I recommend Craig Ramsay's Anatomy of Stretching. I've found it to be an easily understandable book that covers the bases.
